Dumpton Place residential area

Location

The site is located just off Gloucester Avenue, a pleasant residential area close to the shops, cafes and restaurants of Regents Park Road and surrounding area of Primrose Hill. Chalk Farm Underground Station (Northern Line) is close by for links throughout the city.

 

This project, on initial reflection, proposed a challenge to us as the perimeter boundary of the site also shares its boundary with network rail. But through diligent liaison and a cautious approach, no instances of concern have risen from what can be a precarious situation with heavy plant and machinery being in such close proximity with trains.

 

Our involvement

To demolish existing Volvo garage site and pile the perimeter. To remove soil to a depth of 5m and cast floors, walls and transfer slab. Construct a timber frame structure with a brick and blockwork outer skin to incorporate 6 houses over three floors with a single commercial unit at the end. Underground parking and a lift car will be constructed for this project also.
