The site had an approved planning permission to demolish the existing public house and build a new block of 8 apartments. A new planning application was submitted that enhances the approved planning permission to produce an additional unit as well as re- configuring the internal layouts. The development now produces 1 one bed, 5 two beds & 3 three beds.
Building work began in March 2012 and takes approximately 12 months to complete.
We carried out the complete ground works package. This included, creating an underground car park complete with a car lift and turntable. The site had a 3m diameter water infrastructure pipe work running across the corner of the site approximately 20m deep. This meant we had to keep that section of the site fully loaded until the super structure could take over the loading. This then allowed us to dig out and complete the area of the site. We found out later during our consultations with Thames water, that if the load was disturbed we could have had the biggest water fountain in London, estimated at between 60-80 metres in height, hence we was very careful in that area.
